I realized late last night that my little sister turns 40 today. I called her this morning to let her know I was thinking about her.
Chris is losing weight, but I'm gaining it. What gives? I need to walk more. I'm still concerned about the swelling in his leg he had surgery on. I'll keep encouraging him to walk though.
Jessica has amazing talent(s). She took a sewing class last year at my insistence and now she's sewing as if she's done it for years. She always amazes me. She's working on a pirate-type shirt for her Halloween costume. I think she's finished the hardest parts. She's only asked me a few simple questions....then she keeps sewing.
Jeremy has a new "friend" who encouraged them both to make goals: go to church, say prayers, read scriptures. I can't complain. She's a keeper. I got to meet her last week. His co-workers also tried to get him to go to Priesthood Session of General Conference Saturday night. How's that for positive peer pressure? I like it.
Justin gets excited every Friday and sends me a text message "How much did I get?" He gets paid every Friday. Not bad actually. He then likes to spend his money where he earns it. He gets a nice employee discount. He found some discounted XBox360 games that he purchased this week. He's also finding that buying food from restaurants is expensive. He finally realized it's less expensive to buy canned stews and soups. It's still not my choice, but at least it's more fiscally responsible. He's learning more and more all the time. He can heat the soup/stew up on his own.
This morning Chris had a crown-prep from a root canal a few weeks ago. $450 later... (grr) I had a root canal last Friday. Guess what I get in two weeks? Ick. the same thing and another charge for $450. I can't keep this up.
I enjoyed General Conference over the weekend and the time went by SO fast. While listening I baked some home made hamburger buns for dinner, and made rice and beans then froze them for lunches later. I answered Jessica's sewing questions, and knitted dish cloths. I didn't get as many done as I'd hoped. I'll have to keep knitting. Most days I wonder where the time goes.
I was disappointed that Chris had to work all day Sunday for "mandatory overtime." I was hoping for a drive through the canyon. I did get a drive over Alpine Loop last week though, so I really can't complain.
The grass seems to be winning the war in the yard. It's really starting to fill in. I'm seeing fewer and fewer weeds out there. Next year should look even better.
